Tour Location

Naples is the regional capital of Campania and the third-largest city of Italy, after Rome and Milan.   Ischia is a volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is at the northern end of the Gulf of Naples, about 30 kilometres (19 miles) from the city of Naples.   Procida is one of the Flegrean Islands off the coast of Naples in southern Italy. The island is between Cape Miseno and the island of Ischia.  Capri is an island located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrento Peninsula, on the south side of the Gulf of Naples in the Campania region of Italy.

History

Campania is one of the most inspiring and intriguing regions in Italy. Evidence of history from 1600 BC can be found in this region, from the first Greek settlers, to the Roman influence and rule. The terrain is comprised of majestic volcanoes, lush mountainside, sparkling sea, and limestone cliffs, decorated by the nature of the Mediterranean influences. Naples is the biggest and liveliest city in Campania. One of the most popular phrases heard from people around the world, is "Vedi Napoli e poi muori! — See Naples and die!" Since Naples was its own Kingdom until the end of the 19th century, being a Neapolitan is rooted in the hearts of the people, and their passion runs as deep for their city, as that of Vesuvius for the Siren Parthenope.
